After receiving the lion’s share of the credit for getting Donald Trump elected as the next President of the United States, it’s no surprise that Kellyanne Conway has accepted a top job in the White House. She was appointed as the counselor to the President and, according to the New York Times, will be the highest-ranking woman in the White House.
What does this mean for her family? Conway was initially hesitant to accept an official position. In early December, she expressed concerns over managing a White House position and raising four children. Now that she has accepted a position that she calls “family-friendly” it appears that the rest of D.C. is not as welcoming to the Conway family.
A recent article in the New York Post reported that initial inquiries into schools from friends have been met with silence and sighs on the other end of the phone. Are the elites of Washington D.C. taking out their resentment of Trump’s victory on her children? Is this fair?
Conway stated that she is more amused than concerned. The irony is that these elite private schools all claim to embrace “diversity” and “open-mindedness”. By definition, open-mindedness incorporates the beliefs that others should be free to express their views. Are the elites who preach diversity, in fact, behaving as hypocrites?
Kellyanne is taking things one step at a time. After finding the right school, her next mission is to search for a new home for the family.
